I bought a ham a from jamonprive and it has lots of fat. Is it normal?
We will try to address your issue as best as we can and please accept our apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
The ham is naturally high in fat. The edible portion of a high quality ham often makes up only 50% by weight – 40% in the case of shoulder! The remainder is hoof, bone, and fat, as well as other non-edible parts. High fat content is not a sign that there is something wrong with your product! In fact, it’s quite the opposite and you can search on the Internet to confirm this fact!
It is also possible you might have started carving the ham from the narrow end, which contains a smaller amount of meat (this is the case in all hams)
Nevertheless, please send us a photo where we can see the entire ham and I will make sure I pass this case on to my General Manager. It is possible that every once in a while, we might have hams with "too much" (more than normal) fat and that is something we will address for you.
Once we receive this photo, we will get back to you within a few hours.
Have a good rest of the day and thank you for your patience and trust in us.
